Loving Aunt

Obituary

Reva M. Clanzy was the second of four children born to the late Ben Shed and Annie Mae Clanzy on August 6, 1931 in Dozier, Alabama. Years later the family relocated to the Fort Walton Beach area and joined the Beulah Baptist Church. Reva was driven by the love of family. Love was her greatest strength. She did all that she could to express her heartfelt love in her own way. Reva had a great sense of humor and was always full of life. She enjoyed long walks, talking on the phone, welcomed visitors, and loved taking pictures. Her hobbies included: watching her favorite television shows: "General Hospital", "The Young and the Restless","Andy Griffin", and "The Golden Girls" to name a few. When she was able she loved to cook meals that brought nourishment to the soul. As the years passed her eldest sister Maggie entrusted Reva's care to her niece and caregiver Mavis Marie Jackson. Reva's and Mavis' bond was solid and grew closer the last years of Reva's life. Reva was called to eternal rest on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Fort Walton Beach Rehabilitation Center at the blessed age of 88. She was the last surviving sibling of the Clanzy Family. Reva is preceded in death by both parents: Ben Shed & Annie Mae Clanzy, only brother Fate Clanzy, sister(s): Maggie (James, Sr.) Banks and Marie (Willie, Sr.) Jackson, niece(s): Margaret Seymore, Patricia Banks, Ozie Banks, nephew(s): Emeritus Clanston Seymore, James Bank Jr., Billy Banks, Clint and Albert Seymore. She leaves to cherish her sister-in law and best friend Bessie Mae Clanzy; friend(s): Gertha Siler & Dorothy Gosha, devoted caregiver(s): Mavis, Caressé and Ana, all of her children (nieces & nephews), and a host of relatives, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
