Mrs. Sakeena Dana Brown, age 60, of Campbellton (formerly of DeFuniak Springs), Florida passed away, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Sakeena Dana Brown was born on April 01, 1957 in Walton County, Florida to the late Mr. and Mrs. Melvin E. (Lue Nell) Hogans. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age when she became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Nothing was asked of her that she didn't give her very best, until her health failed her. Even in a wheelchair, she gave her all, and was one of the sweetest people you would have ever known.
In 1984, she united in marriage to Benny Ray Brown, and to this union were born two loving and dedicated children: Devlone L. Brown and Shanta L. Brown (Randy McKinnie, which whom she called her son) of Campbellton, Florida. Eight grandchildren who she adored: Trinity, Caleb, Alyssa, Adia, Jayden, JaKobe, Madilynn, and Jordan. Four loving sisters: Sandra (the late Edward Jr.) Hogans, of Ponce de Leon, Florida; Debra Hogans of Ponce de Leon, Florida; Nancy (Ralph Sr.) Jenkins of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; and Veleta (Ronnie) Phillips of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. One loving brother: Kenneth Woody (Sophia) Hogans of Las Vegas, Nevada. One God-daughter: Candace Goodson, of Gautier, Mississippi. A special young lady: Yana Lane, of Samson, Alabama, whom she called her daughter. A special friend: Theresa Hobbs of Niceville, Florida. A special niece: Chasity (Logan) McLeland, of Leandere, Texas. A special great- niece: Kyla McLeland, of Leandere, Texas. A special nephew: Corliss C- Note Stone of Ponce de Leon, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, who loved her dearly.
